The Last Polar Bears by Harry Horse

One thing which i really like about this book - The Last polar Bears, is the way the story is written and the great illustration work. This book is written for children and how i came across this book is another story. But what i want to say here is the story behind this.To my suprise, the author and the illustrator is the same person.

I really enjoyed reading this story book for there are interesting characters. Like roo, a dog which is very human like. She can even talk, whine and complain. This story is about the adventure of a Grandfather and his dog, roo, to the Artic searching for the polar bears. Yea, the story is written for children so the storyline is rather simple. But the story ended abruptly. So the question that linger on my mind was did the grandfather die? my guess was he did. But i was determined to find out. So yesterday, i went online and searched. And I got more info than i intended.

Firstly, I found the autobiography of the author. Something that strucked me was that he died only last year at the tender age of 47. After doing more research, i found his blog. He is dead but his friends continuing update his blog. The next thing i know is that he died with his wife. Weird i thought. At first i wanted to leave comment and ask about how he died. But decided to find it myself.
Here comes my discovery. His wife was suffering from Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and hers was rather aggressive. It's a terminal illness. So, he was desperate for help and stuff like that. In the end, he killed his wife and himself and he made quite a headline in Shetland. Some news reported it as suicide pact, saying they both commited suicide so that they could die together. kinda like Romeo and Juliet. But later on, one news reported saying that he actually stabbed his wife 30 times. Ouch! He did said to the press that if his wife dies he will go with her as well. That explains things. He loved his wife too much so he didn't want to get separated with his wife. So he killed his beloved and himself.

Whoa! I really found more than i had in mind. So, is it a murder or suicide pact? Judge it for yourself. What i know is that, he has really interesting background and he wrote one of the nicest stories.
Oh yeah, the grandfather did die. My guess was correct. In the midst of finding his background i found one line which said that he wrote this story for children who is coping with loss. So that explains. I highly recommend this story. It's really funny and yet interesting. Plus roo really existed. An Art work i will call it.

Blackheads!

Mind you. The incident below didn't happen today. I am only jotting it down today due to certain reasons.

I am that kinda girl that opposed to squeezing zits. I will just apply pimple gel on my zits and hope that it will miraculously disappear the next day. Of course, this never happen. And lately, i have been getting lots of blackheads mainly due to STRESS.

There's this rather obvious blackhead which has been staying on my nose for months but i do nothing about it. I am hoping that it will disappear by itself. But it doesn't.

There's this very close friend of mine-Jasmine who will squeeze every zits of hers. And surprisingly, it leave her no mark.

There was this day, i went to look for Jazz and even before i spoke to her, she muttered something and dragged me to the toilet. Only then i know, she wanted to do a me big favour which is squeezing my blackheads.

I protested but she didn't care. She pulled me into the cubicle and started her "great" work. After all the yelling (me) and scolding (jazz). She happily released me when she managed to squeeze two out. She was rather annoyed because she was unable to squeeze the most obvious one.

After i went back to class, I was talking to Manda and Nette when she suddenly popped in and started telling them her "great" work. Soon, they were all discussing about my zits right in front of the other classmates. they were excited. Haha. they sounded superficial at this point but really they are the most down- to-earth people i have ever met.

Well, i definitely felt embarrassed at that time yet loved at the same time. How many friends of yours will actually take the effort to squeeze your B.Heads? (Mind you, it was not a pretty sight and easy job.) She did. She doesn't want any of my BH to leave permanently on my face.

Aww...how sweet does that sound...

Blog?

I HATE reading blogs. I HATE writing blog even more.

The reason I'm creating this blog is for the sake of my dear English Literature teacher, Miss Siow Ye Leng . She wants us to create a blog. (If you're reading this miss Siow, you should be glad that I am doing it for you ^^ )

As a English Literature student, you should express yourself. That was what she said.

The other reason is that i don't have time to update my blog. I hardly online as well.

You don't have to update it everyday, you only have to update it once a week. She said.

And I can't seem to get the Html right. Call me computer illiterate or whatever. I just can't seem to get it.

But, I am impressed with people who has nice and interesting blog. Like Kenny Sia's and his oh-so-dramatic life. ( He's a very famous blogger in Malaysia.)

So here am I writing my first post. Well, that's life i guess. Ha-ha. Hope it isn't as sucky as i think.
